FAQ
All Atspruds frames are designed so that you can easily frame your artwork yourself.
Just follow these simple steps:
- Unpack the frame. Remove the foam wrapping and the plywood protective corners.
- Release the turn buttons. Using your fingers, turn the brass-plated turn buttons to the sides. These hold the contents of the frame in place. If a turn button is difficult to turn, slightly loosen the screw holding it in place.
- Remove the backing board and spacers. Carefully remove the plywood backing board and the paper spacers. Be careful not to scratch the glass.
- Remove the glass. From the front of the frame, gently push on the foam cover to release the glass together with its protective foam cover.
- Put the glass back. Holding the glass by its sides, gently place it back into the frame.
- Clean the glass if necessary. If you accidentally leave fingerprints on the glass, clean them with a clean, dry, very soft microfiber cloth and an AMMONIA-FREE glass cleaner (for example, a cleaner suitable for optical lenses).
- Attach the artwork. Use the included linen tape to attach the artwork to the backing board, making sure it is centered. Then carefully place the artwork and backing board into the frame.
- Insert the spacer and backing board. Put the paper spacer in place, then carefully put the plywood backing board back into the frame.
- Secure the frame. Turn the brass-plated turn buttons back so that they are perpendicular to the frame; if needed, tighten the screws.
- Hang the frame. If you are mounting the frame on a screw, carefully hold the frame and place the middle of the brass wire over the screw head.
Your artwork is now framed and ready to hang!
If your artwork is A4 size (210 × 297 mm), simply select A4 as the artwork size when ordering your frame.
At Atspruds.com, frames are sized according to the artwork they are designed to hold. This means you can choose any frame profile you like and then select the corresponding artwork size — for example, A4.
You can also specify a custom artwork size, and the frame will be made to measure.
Each frame profile has its own width and depth, so the overall outside dimensions of the finished frame will vary depending on the profile you choose. You can find the exact dimensions of each frame profile in its product description.
Please note that the edges of the artwork will be covered by the frame.
In short: If your artwork is A4, select A4 on the product page, regardless of which frame profile you prefer.
